In assembly, on Friday 3rd November, Barnfield celebrated all the fantastic poems which were entered in to our junior poetry competition. The theme was Freedom and every class had a winner. Our winning poets used similes, rhyme, metaphors and alliteration combined with inspiration from lessons during Poetry/Black History week. It
Year 2 developed their History skills through participating in a drama workshop. The children experienced the London of 1666 and ‘became’ the fire as it spread and burned its way through the city. They also met Samuel Pepys, the Baker, King Charles and Mary Porter and discussed ways of rebuilding the city of London after the fire. Year 2
Year 5 had a great time exploring exhibits at the British Museum and learning more about the Viking and Anglo Saxons. The children had the opportunity to touch artefacts that are over a thousand years old and work out what they were used for. Everyone felt at the end the
We celebrated our annual Harvest festival with children showcasing their amazing Harvest artwork, songs and poems in assembly. We would like to say a huge “Thank You” for the amazingly generous donations we have received for the Harvest Festival this year! We know that our local community will be incredibly grateful
On Monday 16th October, children from Year 2 went to Broadfields Primary School to take part in the Barnet Infant Musical Festival with other local schools. The children sang beautifully. Well done Year 2!
Today the children in 2W performed their class assembly for the Infants, parents and staff. They told us about their Love for Maths; saying their lines with confidence and singing beautifully. Well done to all children and staff in 2W. We all enjoyed your performance!
Year 4 took a fascinating trip to the London Eye on Wednesday 27th September. We took the coach which allowed us to see all the sights of London. We also got to experience to 4D film beforehand. We had a great time!
On Friday 29th September the Year 3 children went on a trip back in time to the Stone Age. They had such a great time building dens, making tools and foraging for food.
