The Barnfield choir, led by Miss Halil and Miss Coussins, sang in our local church on Monday 18th December. This half term Year Two have been learning about the Wright Brothers in Humanities. On Friday 15th December, Year 2 went on a trip to the RAF Museum. The children took part in a Fantastic Flight Workshop and got to build their very own aeroplanes.
Today our Infant children all wowed us with their Nativity performance. Year 2 children were so confident saying their lines and singing their songs. Year 1 children also sang their class song beautifully. Thank you to all staff for your hard work in putting together such an amazing show. You were all AMAZING!
We were so proud of our Nursery and Reception children who performed their Nativity to parents and friends on Wednesday 6th of December. The children did such a magical performance and sang so well; they shone brighter than the star they followed to Bethlehem, bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
On Friday 1st December 5G performed their class assembly to the juniors and their adults. They performed a range of classic and humorous Christmas poems brilliantly as well as singing beautifully! Everyone was fantastic at learning so many lines and working as a team! Well done 5G, we are all so proud of you!
Over the past half term Year One have continued to learn about the local area. This week we focused on the types of jobs people do in Burnt Oak and how they help others in the local community. We visited a pharmacy, bank, baker, post office and train station. The people that the children spoke to were happy to discuss their jobs and answer questions!
On Tuesday 1S performed their class assembly to the infants and their adults. They performed the traditional story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. The children performed and sang beautifully! Everyone was fantastic! Well done 1S, you are all superstars!
What a magnificent turn up we had from our parents and friends to come see the ‘Around the World’ gallery event, which we held on Tuesday the 21st of November. The work produced by the children in Creativity Week was absolutely stunning and we are so incredibly proud of our Barnfield artists. In Week 2 we had our Creativity Week. This year our theme was ‘Around the World’. Each class was presented with a different country and the challenge was to explore art that is symbolic from that country and bring it to life across the curriculum. Our Barnfield artists rose to the challenge and their creativity shone through. Nursery went on a journey to parts of Africa, recreating daily life using photography. This week 1L performed their class assembly. The children have been exploring traditional tales this half term, including Little Red Riding Hood, which was the story they shared in the assembly. The children showed how hard they have been working to learn their lines and songs which they demonstrated wonderfully! Well done 1L!
