What a productive week since our return from our holidays! The children are all working hard and really trying their best.  This is a fabulous start to our spring term.

Our Year 1 children had a surprise visitor this week. The ‘Animal Man’ came and did a wonderful workshop with the children.  He brought a wide range of different animals with him from stick insects to rabbits.  The children learnt loads about the animals, their habitats and how to look after them.

On Thursday we have a visit by a guide dog. This is the charity which the children selected for this year for our fundraising.  So far we have raised over £1200.  We will be learning a little bit more about where the money that we are raising will be going to.

We are also very excited about our ‘Investigations Week’ which will be at the end of January. The theme of this week is going to be Dinosaurs and year groups from 2-6 will all be going on visits to the National History Museum and taking part in some fabulous workshops.  Our Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children will also be doing a workshop but we have someone coming in to deliver this for them.  There will be a chance just before half term for parents to come and see the wonderful work that the children will be doing that week.

We are also going to be running a phonics workshop for parents as well as an online safety session for parents. These will enable you to feel informed about what your child does at school and also how to keep your children safe on the internet at home.  Keep looking out for further information on these!
