School Council Minutes- 5th November 2018
The school council met today to discuss ideas for the upcoming charity event on Friday 16th November. Due to one year group being out on a trip, it was decided that children should still wear school uniform, but they could also wear 1 item of yellow clothing. (This was in recognition of Children in Need’s Pudsey Bear who is yellow). The children were pleased with the success of the first charity event and were looking forward to helping raise more money for the school.
School councillors also fed back on the following:
– A greater range of after school clubs being run
– Keeping the school environment (toilets) cleaner and tidier
– Water fountain in Year 6
Councillors recognised that clubs needed to be run by staff members and Mrs O’Sullivan and Mr Locksley will raise this at the next staff meeting.
Councillors discussed ways of keeping the school clean and tidy and how being good role models will help. We will also ask teachers to remind Infant and Reception children about helping to keep school tidy.
Due to cost, we recognised that a water fountain in Year 6 was unlikely and councillors will remind children to bring in water bottles to ensure they stay hydrated.
