I have been in touch with Cardfields and all of the children have had a very good night, they slept well and are looking forward to the activities that they are going to be doing today.

Our Year 4’s have arrived at Cardfields Centre in Essex safely. I have been in touch with Miss Williamson and Mrs O’Sullivan and everyone is getting settled and they are all happy. We look forward to hearing about all the wonderful things that they will get up to whilst they are away.
It has been a great week so far. On Monday our year 1 children had a visit from the ‘Animal Man’ he brought some small creatures with him to show the children. They were looking at different types of animals and how we care for them. This was a really exciting session for them and he commented on how sensible the children were. We were very proud of them. The children have returned well after the holidays. It is always lovely to see how quickly they settle back into routines and produce wonderful work. There is another busy term ahead for us. A warm welcome back to everyone after the holidays. We look forward to seeing the children at 8.55am for the start of the Spring term.
We are coming to the end of the Autumn term and I know that everyone is so proud of the work that the children have done, their effort and how they have grown in knowledge, skills and confidence. We had the first of our Christmas performances today, which was by our Nursery and Reception children. It was wonderful to see the them act and sing so beautifully, considering many of them are just 3 and 4 years old this is a massive achievement. Last week was such a busy week. We had two trips taking place – for Years 3 and 5 and our Year 1 children also went on a walk around the local area. Trips really do enhance the learning for our children and make things so much more real for them. It was wonderful to see them all return ready to share all that they had learnt. Today we had three neighbouring headteachers visit the school to look at how we teach reading. It was wonderful to hear their impressions of the schools. They were really impressed with the quality of the children’s work and their positive attitudes towards their learning. They felt that the children tried hard in every lesson and always wanted to do their best. They also commented on the high quality teaching and learning that is provided by the staff. Last Friday we raised over £350 for our wear ‘Yellow’ charity fundraising day. This is an amazing amount – so a huge thank you to everyone who donated as this money goes to our school charity. We would also like to thank all those parents who attended the coffee morning on that day and those of you who bought cakes after school. This raised an astonishing £520!
