We had the first of our Christmas performances today, which was by our Nursery and Reception children. It was wonderful to see the them act and sing so beautifully, considering many of them are just 3 and 4 years old this is a massive achievement. I could see that the staff and parents were so proud of them. I am really looking forward to our Year 1 and 2 performance on Thursday 13th December, which will begin at 2.00pm. Please remember that … Continue Reading

Last week was such a busy week. We had two trips taking place – for Years 3 and 5 and our Year 1 children also went on a walk around the local area. Trips really do enhance the learning for our children and make things so much more real for them. It was wonderful to see them all return ready to share all that they had learnt. Thursday is our gallery event. Please do come down to our main gym … Continue Reading

Today we had three neighbouring headteachers visit the school to look at how we teach reading. It was wonderful to hear their impressions of the schools. They were really impressed with the quality of the children’s work and their positive attitudes towards their learning. They felt that the children tried hard in every lesson and always wanted to do their best. They also commented on the high quality teaching and learning that is provided by the staff. It was wonderful to … Continue Reading

Last Friday we raised over £350 for our wear ‘Yellow’ charity fundraising day. This is an amazing amount – so a huge thank you to everyone who donated as this money goes to our school charity. We would also like to thank all those parents who attended the coffee morning on that day and those of you who bought cakes after school. This raised an astonishing £520! We would like to send out a massive well done to those parent … Continue Reading

We have had a number of visitors into school this week to work with our children. The company ‘Impressionable Minds’ were in to work with our Year 5 and 6 children about the types of pressures that they may face in the future and how to keep themselves safe. We have had some visitors into the school during the past week and each time they have commented on how well behaved the children are and how hard they work. Last Thursday, some members of our Governing Body were in for a meeting. As they were walking around the school they could clearly see that the children were really trying their best and enjoying their learning. On Tuesday of this week we had an Inspector for Barnet visit. Again he … Continue Reading

Welcome back to everyone, I do hope you all had a great half term. I would just like to thank everyone for the wonderful and generous harvest gifts that came into the school just before the break. Our Year 6 Mediators did an assembly to the school this week, showing what it means to be a mediator. They have been trained to solve issues by giving others the chance to tell their side and also to listen to others. These are important skills. They are now on the playgrounds wearing their yellow caps. We also have our Year 6 playground squad who have a wide range of games to share with those who want something different to … Continue Reading

Poetry Week was fabulous last week. A huge thank you to Ms Grasby, Mrs Siggins and Miss Jobanputra for all the work that they put into organising this. On Monday some of the children shared the wonderful poems that they had created in assembly and they were very inspiring. They covered a wide range of different poetic styles and it was great to see the thought and effort that the children had put into their work. Next week is Diversity … Continue Reading

This week is poetry week. Throughout the entire school the children are looking at a huge range of different styles of poetry from classic to modern. They have been performing poems and also writing some amazing poems of their own. I really look forward to the final results. On Friday our Year 4 classes went out on a visit to London. This links to one of the topics that they are studying. They had the most amazing day and saw … Continue Reading
