As Year 6 take the stage for the final time, we wish them well in all their future endeavours as they themselves take their next big step.
We are very proud to announce that our overall 2017 -18 Literacy Wall of Fame winner is Duha of 4C. She is now the proud owner of a set of books all personally signed by their authors (including Michael Rosen a great favourite at Barnfield School). Due to a successful first year in the juniors, Literacy Wall of Fame will be returning next year for both juniors and infant children. Year 2 have enjoyed a wonderful trip to Aldenham Country Park. They had a marvellous time going on a bug hunt where they found an assortment of bugs and insects. The children also enjoyed the opportunity to explore the farm and the many animals there. They even got to play in the adventure playground! The children and adults had a fantastic day!
The children had a fantastic time at the farm and found Mrs Gunn’s favourite animals! We went on a tractor ride, fed some goats and explored the adventure playground.
Reception classes worked so hard on their class assemblies of the Billy Goats Gruff! We loved singing about the three billy goats and the terrible troll!
This week Elizabeth and Bruno came back to visit us and collect the cheque for Guide Dogs for the Blind charity. Together we raised a massive £1786.76 this year!
On Tuesday Early Years and Infants had their Sports Day! The children competed in their teams, completing a range of exciting activities and races. They were all fantastic little sports stars- well done everyone!
On Friday the 6th of July, we held a History Day to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One. Lots of fantastic activities took place across the school including code breaking and various creative activities. Year 6 had a special visitor, Avril, to tell us about what it was like for an evacuee during the war. All the children looked fantastic in their costumes and a fantastic day was had by everyone!
These are the finalists from our Barnfield’s Got Talent. The children performed with confidence and showed their incredible talents. We are so very proud of them and their achievements.
The children in year 3 went on a trip to Golders Hill Park for their Science topic. They took part in a Bee count and learnt about many different types of flowers. These are some of the photos the children took. In their lesson, they are using a new plant app to identify the flowers.
