In our last week of the Autumn term we celebrated ‘Diversity Week’. We are very proud at Barnfield of the wealth of different cultures that make up our community. Some of our parents kindly volunteered, teaching us about different traditions which classes thoroughly enjoyed. The children participated in a range of activities which encouraged the children to develop their understanding and respect, enriching their own experiences. This included food tasting, looking at traditional dress, bringing in items symbolic to our family and culture, learning dances from around the world, engaging in writing tasks based on different figures who made a difference in our world, to a planting ceremony taking place in year 1, which symbolised our similarities and differences. Thank you for all your support.
