A huge thank you to all those parents who have supported our events over the last week. It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 1 children and parents join us for the bedtime story event. I know that the staff enjoyed doing this event and we hope that you all enjoyed it too. Thank you to Miss Jobanputra, Mrs Siggins and Mrs O’Sullivan for running this. Our parent phonics workshop was also well attended and enabled us to share with you the strategies that we use to teach reading across the school. Thank you to Miss Williamson for running this and also for organising our parents online event, which we also held last week. This provided up to date information about how to protect our children on line. The small hall was full on Tuesday after school as we got to share with you just some of the work that we carried out during Investigations Week. The children were so keen to share with their parents all that they had learnt!
On Friday we sadly say goodbye to Mrs Murphy. She is leaving us to begin a new chapter of her life in New York. She will be greatly missed by the school but we wish her all the very best and can’t wait to hear how she is getting on. Miss Hammond has been working alongside Mrs Murphy this half term and after the holidays this class will now be known as 5H.
Remember that we finish for half term on Friday at 3.10pm and we are back to school again on Monday 25th February at 8.55am. Please ensure that your child is in school for the very start of the day. We have a number of children who come in after the bell and they are missing precious learning time.
