What a wonderful start to the half term, the sun has been shining and the children have come back ready to learn! There are lots of exciting events coming up this half term. We begin next week with our Book Week. This is always a fabulous event for the children as we have two authors visiting the school. For Nursery to Year 2 we have Liz Fost and in Years 3 to 6 we have Linda Newberry. This is always an amazing opportunity for us to be inspired by real writers and immerse ourselves in a new book. On Friday 8th March we have our book character dress up day to look forward to. Time for the children to get thinking about who they are going to come to school as this year!
We were also really pleased to hear that the school has been awarded the Silver Level of the schools Eco-Awards. This is a real celebration for the school as we have had a huge focus on developing our knowledge of our environment and the steps that we can take to look after it. A massive thanks to Miss Heath, our science co-ordinator, who has been the champion of this. I know that she now is aiming to get the top level which is the ‘Green Flag’ award before the end of the school year. I know we can do it!
