Investigations Week was amazing last week! Well done to all of the children who worked so hard and also behaved so well during the workshops that we had come into the school to work with us. I know that I learnt loads during the week and the children really came up with some amazing ideas of how we can recycle plastics rather than just throwing them away. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Jones, Miss Heath and Miss Birer who organised the whole week for us
This week is Internet Safety Week. We had a workshop for parents on Tuesday evening. Thank you to those parents who attended. In the ever changing world of technology we try to make sure that as well as teaching the children how to stay safe we can also encourage parents to do so as well. The speaker was really good and provided some tips on things that we can do to protect the children. Miss Williamson is going to make sure that the slides from the presentation are put on the website so that those parents who were unable to attend can still have a look at them.
On Thursday morning (7th February) we have a phonics workshop for parents in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Miss Williamson is going to share with you how we teach the children to read in school and how you can support your children at home. This event takes place at 9.05am in the main gym and should last about 45 minutes. Please drop your children off to their classes in the normal way and then walk round to the office entrance (Silkstream Road) where you will be able to come straight into the gym. We look forward to welcoming you.
