We just had our 7th Creativity Week at Barnfield Primary where children look at the work of various artists and pull it apart across the curriculum. Across the school the children tackled this with such impressive flair and an artistic explosion took place! This year the children looked at some real rebels in the history of art who did things outside the norm. Many of the children explored abstract art, which challenged the children to look at shapes, space and … Continue Reading

The children participated in a range of activities which encouraged the children to develop their understanding and respect, enriching their own experiences. This included food tasting, looking at traditional dress, bringing in items symbolic to our … Continue Reading
On Friday 16th November we visited the RAF Museum and were amazed by the planes on display. We learnt about many different planes from the very first flight through to today. We even made our very own plane model and took part in a competition to see whose plane could fly the furthest. What a wonderful day it was!

Year 2 would like to say a big thank you to our Year 2 family member for coming in and teaching us lots about Egypt as part of our celebrations for Diversity Week. We learnt about the importance of sharing our similarities and celebrating our differences between our families who live all over the world.
Poetry week was a great success! Children around the school explored a range of poems and spent the week writing, editing and performing their own work. Lots of children entered the poetry competition with a nonsensical poem based around Roald Dahl.
Years 1 & 2 had a fantastic time singing and dancing away last at their music festival. Can you spot Mrs Grasby in full song too?
Year 2 have enjoyed a wonderful trip to Aldenham Country Park. They had a marvellous time going on a bug hunt where they found an assortment of bugs and insects. The children also enjoyed the opportunity to explore the farm and the many animals there. They even got to play in the adventure playground! The children and adults had a fantastic day!
