Special Educational Needs
Barnfield Primary School strives to ensure that all children are supported, celebrated and challenged to reach their full potential.
The school is committed to providing all children with the greatest possible access to a broad and balanced education. For children with SEND, the school aims to identify the individual needs of each child and provide these children with appropriate support. The school recognises that there is a continuum of special educational need requiring a range of appropriate provision and the knowledge, views and experience of parents/carers.
It is important that all children are treated equally and can readily access the school’s curriculum. Additionally, all children should be able to navigate the physical environment of the school and take full advantage of its education, facilities and services. Therefore, the school carefully considers its accessibility, support and provisions. The school utilises a graduated approach, various interventions and child-centred approaches for this reason. More information about this can be found in the Barnfield SEND Information Sheet and School Offer 2023-24 and Accessibility Plan (2022-2025).

Admissions
Barnfield Primary School welcomes children with a variety of needs. For parents and carers of children with SEN who are considering enrolling at the school, we recommend that you discuss the needs and arrangements for admissions with Ida Møller (SENCo).
Within this discussion, Mrs Møller will also be able to outline the facilities provided to help children with SEN access the school. These can also be found in the Barnfield SEND Information Sheet and School Offer 2023-24 and Accessibility Plan (2022-2025).
