Creativity Week

In week 5, Barnfield held its annual Creativity Week, with this year’s theme being ‘Journeys’, inspired by our new programme ‘Compass for Life’. Each year group had a focus art piece that explored the term ‘journeys’, creating opportunities for the children to talk about their own journeys in life, their hopes and dreams, as well the magical element of journeys.

Artists explored included work by Yinka Shonibare, David Hockney, author/illustrator Aaron Becker, Aboriginal artist Clifford  Possum Tjapaltjarri, Vincent van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Russian artist Victor Bregeda.

The children explored their focus piece, pulling it apart across the curriculum. Yet again, our Barnfield artists inspired us with their creative thinking.

We will be holding a gallery event in the new term to showcase the creations made by the children, so keep watch for dates.

A big thank you to families who donated to class funds, your contribution helped the week to be a success.
