Reading workshop

Here are the slides from our reading workshop for parents/carers.
Thank you to Miss Grasby for running the workshop! Reading Workshop

Here is some further information from Miss Grasby:

  • Please continue to use Bug Club https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0 for your child’s daily reading set by teachers during the school day.
  • Some families have been asking for recommended books that they could buy for their children.
So, if you are looking for inspiration for books to read with your child/children please go to  https://www.booksfortopics.com/early-years or https://www.booksfortopics.com/ks2
There are lists of books recommended by Year groups as well as different categories: from Superheroes to Things that Grow and Wordless pictures books. There are books for a whole range of children’s interests!
Whilst the website does recommend Amazon as a place to buy the books, of course there are many online websites to buy books from, if you want to buy from small local businesses do try https://uk.bookshop.org/ .

Also, this link is for free access to a library for children – https://library.thenational.academy/ .
It has been recently launched so new books and authors will be added all the time.
