Our classrooms were transformed into the rainforest during Investigations Week as our theme this year was ‘Treasures of the Rainforest.’ Children across the year groups found out about why the rainforest is important to us and the problems they face from the use of palm oil to deforestation. In science, the children worked hard to group rainforest animals in different ways including using a classification key. Nursery, Reception and Year 1 met the animal woman who showed them different animals and insects that live in the rainforest! Years 2 through to 6 visited London Zoo to see different rainforest animals including the popular sloth and tamarin (moustache) monkeys! We also had workshops from the Happy Puzzle Company! A busy week of learning was had!
Thank you to everyone who entered the ‘Save the Rainforest’ competition and a huge well done to our winners:
