PE and Sports Premium

Sports Premium at Barnfield

The Government provides schools with Sports Premium funding to improve the quality of physical education, physical activity, and sport for all children. At Barnfield, we use this funding to enhance our provision, ensuring pupils develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead active and healthy lives.

Staff CPD
We invest in external providers who bring expert knowledge to Barnfield. Our teaching and support staff work alongside these specialists in lessons, developing their own skills and approaches. The intended outcome is to upskill Barnfield staff so that children benefit from high-quality PE teaching, both now and in the future.

Extra-Curricular Activities
Sports Premium also supports a wide variety of after-school and lunchtime sports clubs. From football and cricket to dodgeball and badminton, children have the opportunity to try new activities and develop their interests. Funding helps us to provide appropriate equipment, ensuring pupils can learn the necessary skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Promoting PE and Physical Activity
At Barnfield, the Sports Premium plays an important role in promoting our school principle Healthy Me. We use the funding to raise the profile of PE and physical activity, highlighting the importance of keeping fit, active, and healthy for life.
